L'arte perfetta del danzare

38th Annual Summer School, 22nd-29th July 2005

All Saints Pastoral Centre, London Colney, Hertfordshire

The first Summer School in a new location following the closure of Hengrave Hall was a great success. It returned to the courts of Italy and Burgundy in the 15th century. The richness of these courts can be glimpsed in the paintings of Raphael and the illuminated manuscripts of the Duke of Berry. It was also a time of expansion in science, exploration and the arts. The thinkers, painters, architects and politicians of this era danced the balli and basse danze that were studied during the week week.

A few photographs can be seen in the Gallery
